What is vibration?

Vibration – mechanical oscillation of solid bodies.

How are they measured?

Devices used to measure mechanical oscillations (vibrations) are called vibrometers, and devices used to measure acceleration are called accelerometers.

The vibrometers we offer are compact, light and comfortable to work with. They use an external accelerometer and magnetic base to improve frequency response and provide repeatable vibration readings. Frequency ranges are used for their broad detection capabilities. Ideal for fast and accurate velocity measurements in the appropriate measurement parameter of the vibration measurement, alternatively in cm/s (centimeters per second) or ft/s (feet/sec).
